I would strongly recommend against the use of any RFC-822 special characters
in personal name phrases. I trust quoted strings to avoid the problem about
as much as I trust the Red Chinese government to allow dissent and freedom of
speech.
This is not a fantasy. The number of mail programs which parse RFC-822
according to the RFC-822 grammar are greatly outnumbered by the number which
do not. This includes most versions of /usr/ucb/Mail.
