That's only true if the gateway is to apply a first-party (originator)
signature. The netnews gateway can still apply its own signature to the
message it originates, just like a mailing list. Many netnews gateways
will be able to apply an originator signature on locally-posted
messages, in any case. I see this as being very analogous to the
mailing list case.
Applying DKIM signatures to netnews messages is an interesting idea, and
worth further thought, but is outside the (current) working group charter.
