So, for the merged Caller-ID/SPF stuff, use the SPF syntax in TXT
records and, when you need extentions that can't be represented in
SPF, use XML in new record format. Sounds reasonable to me.
People need to be able to publish in XML or SPF, out of the gate. Since not
all DNS servers support a new record type, we need to support XML in TXT
records out of the gate.
I thought Jim Lyons did a nice job last week of demonstrating that XML
records for MARID are also small.
