My position on the prefix issue is that, since the right way to do
things is to publish SPF2 RR records at the domain itself, we should
put the TXT records there as well.
While it might make for less clutter to put the TXT records at some
sub-domain such as _spf, it would be inconsistent with where the SPF2
RR goes. Further, using sub-domains appears to be a significant
barrier to publishing for domains that use existing domain hosting
services. Lastly, from previous technical discussion, it is clear that
use of a sub-domain doesn't improve the wild-card situation at all, nor
allow any information to be removed from the version string.
