I use mh-e, so it's really not, for me, MH's problem.
What I would prefer is an MH-level filter that transforms format=fakeflowed
into real format=flowed. (I would really like that filter to stick in front
of mailman too..). So the stuff on disk would be format=flowed!!!
If you can figure out a reasonable algorithm to detect format=fakeflowed,
I'm all ears. I don't really think it needs to be on-disk ... if all of
the utilities output it properly, then why is that necessary?

everyone else is afraid to do something that would confuse outlook users.
I am under the impression that most MUAs can HANDLE format=flowed just fine.
It's just they don't send it when they should.
