This comes up all the time, on this and many other lists. There is no
good solution to the problem because many people who read and participate
are not subscribed to the list.
Personally, I think the "here's my question -- oh & please reply
personally because I'm not subscribed" questions are a bad idea. Subscribe
to the list, ask your question and then unsubscribe when you get your
answer!
Whether the person submitting the mail is or is not a subscriber is
irrelevant; it really should be a trivial matter for the list operator to
scan for and reject mail containing "X-Advertisement" and "Cyber-Bomber"
and the like in the headers.
