I must submit this regarding the rude statements included within the
response from Mr. Sean. B Straw / "Professional" Software Engineering.
Geez, that was far from rude - it was stating simple positions and the
reasons supporting why the list is handled the way it is. If expressing a
differing opinion - one based on the years of use of this forum and the
tool discussed here - is rude, then so be it - but that post simply was not
written that way.
Using the subject line to identify a list simply isn't how many tech lists
run -- certainly not those where the issues with doing so are well
understood. Obviously you didn't understand this to be the case before,
which is why I presented the explanation as to how problematic filtering on
the subject is.
Now, this I must state directly to Mr. Straw, I wish for you to never
again respond to a single question that I submit.
FTR, flaming someone on the list _invites_ reply.
You can filter out my replies in your MTA or via procmail if my list posts
rile you so. I'd provide a procmail rule for this, but having seen you
just flog someone else for posting such "cryptic" stuff in response to your
query, I don't think that would be worth the effort.
