Look at Dovecot. Outlook doesn't write ANYTHING to the IMAP mail store. The
IMAP server does that (unless you are remote mounting the mbox folder via
NFS and letting Outlook muck around on a non-native filesystem).
Outlook may send a final blank line but maybe Dovecot can be tweaked to
look for that and correct it.
