IE has 95% marketshare. That leaves 5% for Mozilla, old Netscape,
Firefox, and what ever else.
Actually, the article says:
"Over the last month, however, its market share has slowly dropped from
95.73 percent on June 4 to 94.73 percent on July 6."
As the link I cited shows
http://www.thecounter.com/stats/2004/July/browser.php
IE is down to 93% for the month of July.
But there's IE and there's IE. Different versions of IE behave
differently. The three most widely different and prevalent branches
are:
IE6/Win
IE5.x/Win
IE5.x/Mac
IE6 has only a 77% share - below the 80/20 rule you cite! At a minimum
you need to check IE5.5/Win to get yourself up over 80%.
