So instead of bickering why don't those who disagree with Meng part
company and start their own development branch per se.
I really think there is a bad apple somewhere corrupting this list
(honestly not pointing any fingers) and if that means that development
groups need to become part of two separate private lists by invitation
only to avoid motivation poisoning and red tape, then by all means do it.
For heaven's sake I'm worried that spinning wheels like this will put
everyone in danger of stopping progress altogether.
I'm ready to dive in and help, but I can only do so in implementation and
testing and only on a small scale, but I'm needing a product to use and I
don't want it to be Microsoft that comes up with the first and only
solution to the problem.

The folks who asked me, back in January, to work with
Microsoft to produce a single standard, would have to ask me
to stop.
Instead they have been emailing me directly saying "please
keep going". They won't say it here, because we seem to
have turned this mailing list into a cross between a
kangaroo court and a witchhunt, but it's what I'm hearing.
So, we have our answer.
The list is now irrelevent; the future direction of SPF will be determined
by
private star chamber discussions between Meng, Microsoft, and these
unnamed
parties.
Thanks for playing, everyone, and good night.
