CDO isn't an SMTP library. It's a message object management library
that implements a small portion of SMTP.
Is this your new take since your "it's MAPI" nonsense was rebuffed"
CDOSYS is _the_ OS-native way of creating and submitting SMTP and NNTP
objects in unmanaged code. The managed System.Web.Mail namespace is a
simple wrapper for CDOSYS.
Only with System.Net.Mail has CDOSYS been superseded as the preferred,
Windows-native method of managing and transmitting RFC 822 SMTP/MIME
messages.
Please, find me documentation that says otherwise. I'd love to see
this.
