Pull is a great idea, and if we can persuade mailing list operators to
offer it as a choice, that's great.

But it's not email.

No, but it solves THAT problem nicely. I better be careful, or I'll use
the words "hammer" and "nails" soon. and it helps solve some of the
e-mail problems, becaues the more you can take this kind of content out
of the email stream, the easier it is to focus on other issues.
Effectively, moving this stuff to RSS would whitelist it for us, which
simplifies the problem we're trying to solve.
...

Who is we and what is our prblem, kemo sabe?

Collaboration, text messaging, and information sharing mechanisms
other than mailing lists sound interesting, but here they are as
relevant as flamewars about who is really behind SPEWS or lying about
whether SPEWS listed all of UUNET. For better or worse, we're supposed
to fix the hammer that is email so that it drives fewer crooked spam
nails. If the word "hopeless" fits expecting 500,000,000 users and
30,000,000 system administrators to install new email software to fix
spam (it does fit), then what is the word for expecting many of those
500M people to switch to something that is not email?

Would it make sense for this mailing list to conclude with "spam can't
be fixed, so stop using email"? Perhaps so, but discussions of the
replacement for email would be off-topic.

I've found the talk of RSS interesting, but it seems off-topic here.
