Based on the descriptions given by James and George, it seems I could
implement an S/MIME solution with dig, reformail, and openssl using a
simple script.
It would certainly solve some problem, but of course the question is
whether the problem is the one we have consensus we want to solve.
So I suppose we really do have some requirements, since there are
evidently criteria that seem important to me that don't appear to be
important to others.
