...it's just wrong. I didn't try to find three "paying members" to
support that opinion, and nobody else is "qualified" to support it :-(
have to agree here. the cost of IETF attendance these days (meeting
fees, hotel, and travel) is such that few can afford to regularly attend
meetings at their own expense, and there are many technically qualified
people with a history of significant contributions to IETF whose
employers don't regularly fund IETF trips.
