Re: Cannot get recipes to work properly

Andrew's advise to Rich included this,

| > * 9876543210^0 ^X-:
|
| This is a bad idea. There are lots of perfectly legit X- headers in
non-spam
| mail, X-Mailer being one of the most common. This very list uses
X-BeenThere
| to prevent mail loops.

Look again, Andrew. Rich isn't trashing mail based on the presence of ^X-
but rather on the presence of ^X-:, where the entire header name is "X-:".
Now, I personally wouldn't trash any mail based on software's opinion of it,
and I file suspected spam to a folder where I can glance at it, because the
risk of a false positive is too much to take. (For example, if I were
posting to this list from my yahoo.com address, Rich wouldn't see any of my
posts, ever; if he were siphoning mail from yahoo.com addresses to another
file, he'd see it eventually.) However, I would not hesitate to treat any
message that had a header named X-: as malformed and suspect and to send it
to the reject pile.
