unfortunately, there are no spf documents that specify proper usage. as
of now, spf is put forward as being appropriate for everyone to use all
the time.

this is like telling the police to arrest anyone who is ever found on the
premises at any time.

Looks like the analogy has been strained beyond any utility so I won't attempt to puncture it further.

so,

it really would be helpful for the spf community to document proper and
improper usage of spf.

it would make discussion about its role far more productive and precise.

To that end, perhaps some constructive (or at least specific) comments on the existing web pages, drafts etc. would be helpful. I'm sure that there are a number of people who can respond by making documentation better.

Speaking of productive discussion, I replied to an earlier message of yours, and I think I addressed most of the points you were making there. Is there any particular reason you chose a number of other messages to reply to but not mine?

When I want to have a reasonable and productive discussion, I usually choose to reply to people who are being reasonable and seem to also want to have a discussion. On the other hand if I wanted to cause a flame war and add noise level and strife to a list, I would probably choose to reply to people who seem to react strongly and boisterously and ignore any attempts to find common ground. So... how do you choose which messages you want to reply to? What actually are your goals by participating here?
