Let's not forget that procmail allowed per-user block lists in December 1990.
Certainly by 1994 I was using it to return an SMTP error to someone who
mailbombed me, by passing an error code back to sendmail from my .forward
file.
How do you pass an error back to sendmail from the .forward file? Several
years ago I wanted to do this and couldn't find any way to do so. Does it
cause a rejection, or generate a DSN? I feel the former is the best way to
handle spam, so that no mail is lost.
