The IETF non-WG CodeMatch mailing list only seems to use the mailing
list to announce a new online or phone meeting. You *have* to go to
github in order to see anything of significance.

My fear is that a WG will start using github as the method of
communications and only announcing someone pushed information to github.
(like CodeMatch does now)

Hosting your own github like service is not that difficult.  Git comes
with a simple service that provides web interface for servers. I don't
care if its the IETF or github as both methods would allow for making
complete copies and public access.
