Re: New Procmail Recipe Forum at UNIX.COM for the Procmail Communit y

Sorry for being mean, but I couldn't help but get this image of a spoiled brat
that by his mom was considered to be too delicate to play outside, and in the
house his mom made sure that no other kids were mean to him no matter what he
did... the other kids only played with him because being spoiled he had all the
new toys; knowing this, and with his mom 5 seconds away, he was rude/mean to
everyone else, but ran to his mom as soon as anyone talked back.

Tim, seriously, you did a no-no, and people told you so... Just ignore the
language/tone of voice and you'll realize that, people got upset because you
not only did something they didn't like but you also attacked the first person
that told you so.

Once you'd gotten two or three replies you should have realized your mistake,
and not go on by saying that you're right, everyone else is wrong and top it
off by saying that you're no longer on mailinglists as this one because you
think that everyone is wrong (regaring how they're behaving)... I mean.. wtf is
up with that? You admit to having a view on things that isn't the same as
everyone elses, and yet you keep on insisting that we're wrong for being as
people are most and you're right because you think your view on things is
better than ours...?

(If I weren't afraid of insulting others on this list I'd ask if you're deeply
religious.)

It's a rough world, you don't deal with that by removing yourself from it, you
deal with it by learning the rules and figuring out where the good advice is
coming from... The people on this list's been getting great advice from Sean,
and all we've gotten from you is an ad for a (non-commercial) webforum covering
just a small part of what this list is about; guess who's side we're on when
the ad-guy is starting to attack people?!

And what's with all that "admin of 24'..." stuff? Are we supposed to be
impressed? Am I supposed to fire back by telling you what kind of work I'm
doing?

Oh, BTW, if you want to call my behavior unacceptable in face-to-face social
interactions then I think I must disappoint you, when so-called technical
people mess up IRL (and I'm in anyway involved) then my behavior is way worse;
and if I mess up I expect the same from other people... but I also expect us to
be able to calm down and a few hours later sit down as friends and laugh at who
ever's in trouble by then. ;-)

On Sat, 15 Feb 2003 the voices made Tim Bass write:

I'm so not trying to be rude, but I think that most people that really need
such a thing would write it themselfs; it's a very simple thing to do
(personally I'd use CGI and perl, though).
