there's a good reason for having no local lockfile (perhaps there's a

triggered in two procmail processes at once), but I can't imagine one
for invoking cat and a shell for something procmail can do without help.
I assume the above example assumes delivery to a mbox style of dir? I am
using the Maildir format (not that I expect you to guess that), so I have
assumed that I don't need a lockfile. Is that correct? Is it always
correct not to have a lockfile on delivery recipes when used with the
Maildir format?
This is what I have understood, just thought I'd take the opportunity to
ask.
