What's the reasoning behind this? Maybe fetchmail is broken anyway?
Yes, it's incorrect. But there's a lot of broken software on
the internet that we all have to deal with ;)
But definitely NOT by twistedly designing new standards around such broken
software.
Everyone who has a problem with a new standard that is expressly designed to
work with *properly* written software should better go fixing the broken
software instead of complaining. If one took every broken piece of software
out there into account when designing a new standard, there'd be no point in
even beginning.
We already had that discussion wrt. using "Received: SPF" vs. "Received-SPF:".
Can we finally please stop that?
