Any antispam strategy that can be trivially countered will
not be effective in the long run. We are interested in
developing strategies that will be effective in the long
run. Therefore we should not be troubled by the presence of
spammers on this list, because they should not be able to
trivially counter what we do.
When SPF went up, lots of spamming domains published right
away. That's fine; we never said authentication was the
be-all and end-all. We're counting on accreditation and
reputation systems to solve that.
Openness is good for everyone. Security through obscurity
does not do anything for us in the long run.
