My reason for this is it takes more than $500 a year to keep up with
the technology of running as GOOD SECURE mail server.

What, exactly, is this technology that you need to pay for? A small site
with an admin that knows what they is doing doesn't need to spend more
then the the domain, the cost of maintaining the box(es) that handle the
email, and the bandwidth used. For a small site that is going to be much
less then $500 USD a year.

I would not care if it cost $500 a year to register a domain if

Many private individuals and non-profit organizations would care
much. How stupid.

Of course, hotmail.com wouldn't care much if the registration of its
domain
would cost $5000 a year.

Who is the Internet for ? Only for the big companies with big money,
or
for
you and I and everybody ?
