I am only suggesting the operator of a mail server needs to be certified or
qualified by some standards.
qualifications won't happen (infrastructure, $$$, etc).
Everybody just forget any centralization of authority, additional
infrastructure, new RFCs and protocols, etc. They are too long to put in
place(years), subject to
bureaucratization/politicization/commercialization, monopolistic
single-points-of-failure and throughput chokepoints.
If ASTA members (the 800 pound gorillas) and the rest of us would simply
and soon _INSIST_ on DNS/SMTP settings to serve as "credentials", we'd be
100 miles further down the road than now.
