Re the patent licensing,

Harry put out a couple of posts on Monday:

  http://www.imc.org/ietf-mxcomp/mail-archive/msg03496.html
  http://www.imc.org/ietf-mxcomp/mail-archive/msg03497.html

(rename the .bin attachments to .pdf to view)

(could somebody please make those files available online as
PDF and post a url, thanks.)

The files are available at:
 http://www.elan.net/~william/asrg/SenderID_License-Agreement.pdf
 http://www.elan.net/~william/asrg/SenderID_Licensing-FAQ.pdf

The IPR declaration Microsoft made is also available at:
 http://www.imc.org/ietf-mxcomp/mail-archive/msg03495.html
There they claim patent rights on the combination of
 draft-ietf-marid-core-03.txt and draft-ietf-marid-pra-00.txt
together and it is not clear if Microsoft is going to claim IPR on any of
the documents along and which ones. I asked that question on mxcomp but
I do not expect Harry to answer it anytime soon... If any of you are more
familiar with IETF IPR requirements and policies, I would appreciate
looking as to whether we can get Microsoft on this issue and force them
to claim IPR on appropriate document(s) separately, which I suspect will
clear the IPR claims from being made against marid-core document.

Eric Allman posted an analysis:

  http://www.imc.org/ietf-mxcomp/mail-archive/msg03500.html

The list archive is at

cheers
meng
