The fact that Meng's representation as "SPF Leader" is "clearly false",
applies only to those who are privy to the discussions on these mail-lists
and elsewhere within the spf community. To the outside world the impression
that he *is* the SPF Leader appears to be prevalent, and is not corrected by
Meng at all AFAIK.

This is why I suggest we come up with what the spf-community want to portray
as their collective view of spf now and in the future, and to make sure that
the message is transmitted to the publicity machine effectively.

Unless, of course, you are totally happy with Microsofts continued claims
that the whole of the spf work is actually just a small part of Sender-ID

Just my 2 cents: Meng is the one who does take the time to talk to these
reporters, and answer all these emails and requests for interviews and
stuff. Last week, Meng offered the 'position' of spokesperson for the
spf community to the community, as far as I know, no one has stepped
forward so far.

I don't know what the electronic news media have been writing about
Meng, Microsoft and the whole mess. As far as I know, electronic media
like any other media present a distorted view of the truth. From my
contact with Meng through this list and in the irc channel, I really
don't get the impression that he will sell us all out to microsoft.

Just wanted to say that I respect all the work Meng (and of course Mark
L. !) have put into SPF. In no way do they deserve to be pictured as
frauds, imo.

I do what I can to assist the spf effort, but I will not "leave Meng alone".
Meng is *not* god and is just a bloke like the rest of us. I asked Meng for
information on the situation regarding Microsofts involvement, but there is
no response. I will continue to press for an answer until an up-to-date
statement is made.

Although I wouldn't go as far as demanding such a formal thing as a
'statement', I am also curious about what the noise is all about.
