I give up. The current system has local polling and remote
send-on-demand. You want to replace it with local send-on-demand
and remote polling. You don't see to see any problems with this. I
have no idea why it's not obvious to you, but I'm not going to put
any more effort in it.

I'm not sure which upsets me more: that people are so unwilling to accept
responsibility for their own actions, or that they are so eager to regulate
everyone else's.
