Good points Mark, especially about the discussion period.
Move the nomination deadline up to the 2nd then? With the 2nd-9th
as a week for discussion prior to the vote run?

Thanks!

On the times: What about just inserting a week of discussion and
pushing the voting later instead?

To me it's simpler to think of folks both now and in future years coming
back from the holidays, and going through the whole process then,
instead of straddling some of the process beforehand and some of it
afterwards.

Say nominations Jan 2-8, discussion 9-16, voting 16-22, or something
along those lines. (I'm fine with discussion time doubling or all
times doubling, just as long as there's a discussion period in there.
The discussion period is the real item I'm concerned about, and I
hesitated to even mention dates above simply because I really don't care
what specific dates are chosen, as long as the elections really occur.)
