I'll go ahead and throw my system out there as a potential system to run
CVS (or anythign else for that matter) from. It's not the beefiest box,
but it is very reliable, has plenty of space, and sits on a fat pipe. I
don't know that we really need to sign up for any of the open source
development websites, as I'd be happy to host anything we need
(bugzilla, mailing lists, CVS/Subversion, etc).
I'd be willing to mirror the repo (rsync preferred, if you don't mind)
once daily just to have an off-site backup that I could toss out as a
repo tarball in case of emergency, but I only have DSL with 128 kbps
upstream and without static IP so I can't offer serious hosting right
now.
Bugzilla, SVN would be fine with me, CVS well, if it must be, and if you
don't have settled on a mailing list software yet, may I kindly suggest
that you consider Mailman 2.1 alongside the other options you may be
evaluating. It's not perfect, but of the handful of list servers I've
seen both as admin and user, it has a rather smooth overall performance,
and I might be able to answer setup questions (would you kindly ask them
off-list).
