Matthias, do you think you might be able to split these patches and send
them to Rob?
I might be able to check how Rob has baptised Sunil's two patches, and
maybe retrieve them from the archive, my patch is unsplittable and irons
out some bugs that show with Sunil's patch (hence the allusion to unions
in C).
This will take a day or two though.
