Regarding the auto-response, I was very aware of the issue, which is
why when I signed up for the list, I requested a daily batch instead
of individual posts. Somehow my list configuration got hacked while
I was in the middle of answering other posts (I do not check email
every 30 seconds like some others).

Your list configuratuon got hacked?? Is that the story you will go with?
Even if so, btw, you still remain banned at my server; because I then
consider you a rogue, "owned" zombie, whose output cannot be trusted. This
"I was hacked" story makes for a very lame excuse. Man, take some
responsibility!

The issue with the auto-response is that if we reply to the
"Reply-To:" address, then the auto-response goes to the entire list,
which is even worse. So we send the auto-response to the "From:"
address, which means to the person who posted to the list, which sent
me that person's post. It is really not that wrong, if you consider
that if you send me an email (the list is forwarding it to me with
your From: address) then I have a right to respond to you. If I
choose to respond with an auto-responder, that is my right.

What is it that Blake said? "The fool persists in his folly!"

But my question to you experts is (and I will appreciate your help
very much), where can I find an exhaustive list of all formats of
list headers, so we can handle all lists?

Do you not think you should understand headers BEFORE you announce an
anti-spam product?

I am asking seriously, here. You received a lot of flak, including from
yours truly. But you obviously have no clue. There is nothing wrong with
that, per se. But you have to step back now, and look at this objectively.
Your woefully misconfigured autoresponder demonstrates a lack of pertinent
knowledge on your end (the least of which is not in the area of netiquette).
That does not inspire much confidence in your product. And then you come
back, defending -- thus compounding -- your error, seeing nothing wrong with
it. While, at the same time, admitting you really have no good idea how to
interpret headers (which was an honest statement, btw). Something's gotta
give, Shelby. :)

To answer your question in the most unambiguous way I know how: the best way
for your autoresponder to deal with mailing lists, is to stay the heck clear
from them! Look for something that says:

"Precedence: list"

And then NEVER send an autoresponse to anyone found in the headers. In fact,
I urge you not to use your autoresponders at all.

Giants walk on these SPF/IETF/MARID, etc. lists (I am not among them, btw).
If you send your autoresponder to people om these lists, you run the high
risk of a biggie pulling the rug from under you one day. In short: you
picked the very wrong sorts of list to tick people off by spamming them.
That is really a friendly piece of advice. Never say I did not warn you. ;)
